Policies and systems
To cultivate and embed a ‘rights-aware’ approach across its business, Novartis has a number of policies and systems in place.
Our commitment to human rights is enshrined in our Policy on Corporate Citizenship, our Corporate Citizenship Guideline on Human Rights and on Third Party Management, and through our commitment to the UN Global Compact.
Our core values are based on the fundamental rights of every individual, such as the protection of privacy, freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of association, nondiscrimination and the right to be heard. These values are supported by management structures to measure progress and verify compliance through internal and external audits and management reviews. All Novartis associates undergo human rights awareness trainings and we report publicly on our compliance with human rights as part of our commitment to the UN Global Compact.
