Establishing high standards

Creating and maintaining credible relationships with patient groups is a Novartis imperative. We want to be trusted to provide information to patients and to enter into projects with patient groups without bias and without seeking to promote a particular product. Our goal is to treat patient groups as partners to achieve better health, rather than as potential or actual consumers of our products. To ensure high ethical standards are maintained throughout the company, Novartis has established mandatory guidelines for associates to adhere to when interacting with patient groups anywhere in the world. In 2007, Novartis began publishing on its website the names of patient groups it supports in Europe and the US. Novartis has long been committed to being a credible and sustainable partner to patient groups and has provided training to all marketing teams based in Basel headquarters. Training will continue on a regular basis.
