Novartis Taiwan selected as one of the "Best Corporate Citizens 2006"
Novartis Taiwan has been recognized in the first ever “BEST Corporate Citizen” list recently published by the leading Taiwanese business publication Common Wealth Magazine.
June 6, 2006 - The study covered 3,300 companies from which an expert panel selected the Top 75 in the areas of “environmental protection", "social involvement" and "education and culture”. Novartis, the only pharmaceutical company in the list, was granted the highest score in the category of "social involvement" and the second highest in “education and culture”. Other multinational companies such as Agilent, HP, Philips, Citibank, Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank, Nokia, Epson, Ford, SHISEIDO, Carrefour and Nu Skin are also included in the list.
Novartis Taiwan has been actively engaged in Taiwan by supporting national priorities such as the development of biotechnology, through activities like the Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp and the Taiwan-Swiss Biomedical Symposium. Novartis is also recognized as a “caring and curing company” by the patients and general public due to its Five Generation Campaign and Health Lectures organized with the endorsement of Ministry of Health. Furthermore, for the past three years, Novartis has been actively promoting cultural exchange and educational development in an aboriginal village through the New Light Program.
