Environmental performance

The environmental performance data published in our 2007 Annual Report and on the Novartis.com website covers ongoing Novartis operations at the end of the 2007 reporting year. Contributions from the two Consumer Health Business Units, Gerber and Medical Nutrition, which were divested to Nestlé during the reporting year, are excluded from the figures and charts. Breakdown of the figures for Divisions is provided where meaningful.

The 2007 environmental and resource data published in the Annual Report and on our website are actual data for the period from January through September and best estimates for the period October through December, which will be updated with actual data in the first quarter of 2008. Significant deviations will be reported on our website and restated in next year’s Annual Report.
